Deep Rising is a Sundance 2023 selected feature documentary and nascent cause (officially launching November 2023) centred around humankind’s ongoing plunder of the planet through mass extraction. The film and cause focus on the impending mining of the deep seabed, a place that represents 95% of the planet’s biosphere in which a delicate balance is held by deep sea animals ranging from the obscure and yet to be discovered to the microbial masses in the sediment sequestering billions of tons of CO2.
