Paul Sharp. Writer/Art Director/Creative Director

Late in the 90s Paul Sharp started out as a mop-haired by-product of the UK indie scene working at Dentsu London AKA Collett Dickenson Pearce having graduating from Bucks Uni with a degree in design & advertising and a Creative Circle Best Newcomer Award.

After a few formative years working on beers (S&N Brewery), cars (Honda), and castles (Historic Royal Palaces), he moved on to McCann Erickson to work on money (Mastercard), caffeine (Nescafe), and soft drinks (Coke), which he, and his erstwhile creative partner, Paul Turner (see previous Paul description) focused on as lead creatives.

Then, in the early noughties, he wept goodbye to Paul T and swapped long winters and zero sun for the southern hemisphere ("thank you, dual citizenship"), and has since worked in some of Australia’s finer creative establishments including, Leo Burnett, Publicis Mojo, DDB, and most notably The Monkeys, where he had the pleasure of helping them grow into an agency big enough to sell for a bomb to Accenture (with agency wins such as Adnews - NSW Agency, Independent Agency and Agency of the Year, Campaign Brief Australian Agency of the Year, Mumbrella Creative Agency of the Year, And B&T Independent Agency of the Year). Along the way he picked up a few nice shiny bits for himself.

Somewhere in all the above, he also managed to fit in a “working sabbatical” direct with Apple in California where he helped launch a couple of iPhones.

Fast forward to March 2022 and his most recent move; to take on a senior creative director role at Emotive Sydney where he currently resides, working with an awesome, world-class team of inspiring individuals by the coast in Coogee.

Aside from the paid challenges of agency life he also likes to dabble in the odd personal project including art, design, photography, mukbang, and screenwriting (one of these is probably false).

And last but not least, he consults on and creates projects for the most important client on the planet, the planet. Currently, this is a film and impact campaign unveiling some inconvenient and alarming truths about our so-called green revolution and our insatiable appetite for mass extraction.

Well, that's Paul Sharp in a very tight nutshell. Feel free to reach out.

Note: Paul Sharp is not entirely comfortable with the practice of writing about himself in the third person (but... this is the way).
